Los Angeles Football Club and the Vancouver Whitecaps, an encounter that takes place often, played in a midweek match as part of the Leagues Cup. The Canadian roster had its first participation in this tournament, while LAFC played against Xolos with a 3-0 victory.

LAFC brought starting players with interesting exceptions. Hugo Lloris rested bringing Abraham Romero into goal, while Nathan Ordaz was placed as a striker instead of Kei Kamara. In that regard, Oliver Girous will be presented tomorrow, bringing a third option in the ¨9¨ position.

The first half belonged to the visitors. In the fourth minute, Sebastian Berhalter placed the ball in the net after a defensive deflection to the center by Jesus Murillo. At the 17th, a corner kick was well-headed by Ranko Veselonivic. Thys, the Whitecaps had a two-goal advantage.

The second half brought veteran striker Kei Kamara and Mateus Bougusz in the scoreline. David Martinez brought dynamic to the attack. Kamara scored with the head after a premature attempt from the Whitecaps goalkeeper, a similar case in Bougusz goal. A mistake by the goalkeeper well-solver by the Black and Gold offense.

Oliver Girous, the attackers are scoring more than ever. Both Kamara and Giroud are in their late 30s.

With a tied score and a point for each team, penalties came onto the scene. The Whitecaps were more effective and won 4-2.
