The Sounders played Nashville to a thunderous 3-0 victory on Saturday afternoon in a cross-conference matchup, where Danny Musovski, Pedro de la Vega, and Paul Rothrock all found the back of the net in front of over 31,000 supporters. Going into the match, Seattle was seeking their third win of the season and sitting at 11th place in the west, whereas Nashville came into the day with double the wins over Seattle and sitting at 6th place in the east.
A notable sight on the bench was new Sounders signee Ryan Kent, who found himself involved in the match for the first time after weeks of waiting due to the P1 visa process. Kent ended up making his highly anticipated debut, entering the pitch at the 84th minute.
Additionally, Kim Kee Hee stepped up for the Sounders to fill in for an injured Jackson Ragen, where the South Korean made his first start for the club since returning to the Pacific Northwest after five years.
Recently, striker Jesus Ferreira has stepped up after being put off a minutes restriction due to a prior injury and came into the game seeking his first goal in Rave Green. While the USA national team player did not find goal, Ferreira played another key role in a strong Seattle performance where he earned two assists.
Albert Rusnak and Jordan Morris returned from injury at the 62nd minute of the game, replacing two of the first-half goal-scorers: Pedro de la Vega and Danny Musovski, respectively. Later in the second half, Alex Roldan also returned to play after recovering from a quadriceps injury. Ultimately, alongside the strong result, the Sounders had a fantastic day, showing recovery from the injury bug.
The Sounders opened the scoring through Danny Musovski at the 19th minute, where the 29-year-old found a tap-in after a slow-enough attempt by Ferreira. The initial call was ruled as a disallowed goal since the striker looked offside upon first look, but the replay at a side angle showed Musovski to be comfortably onside. A VAR review was invoked to overturn the initial decision, thus marking the second consecutive game where Musovski found the back of the net.
After the opening goal, Seattle showed a strong resolve to continue pressing to score another, and Pedro de la Vega was the man to find the second goal of the night. Obed Vargas found himself in a fantastic ground-crossing position after taking the ball inside the penalty area and near the goal line, perfectly finding de la Vega, who put his entire body into striking the ball strong and high into the net.
It became a running riot following Pedro’s goal, and the Sounders found a third goal within five minutes of the second. Jesus Ferreira showcased his sharp vision by finding Paul Rothrock off a low cross within the Nashville penalty box, and the young midfielder found a clean two-touch finish past Joe Willis.
The game ended 3-0 to the home side, making the victory the Sounders’ second three-goal win in the 2025 season so far.
