The matchup between Seattle Sounders and LA Galaxy showcased two of the most popular teams in their conference. On one side Raul Rui Diaz, and the other Javier Hernandez, the man of the moment with his ongoing streak at goal. This was indeed a game worth watching.
Rui Diaz would make his presence in the match permanent after his goal in the first half. Two of the goals came back to back at the 20th and 23rd minutes of the game. LA Galaxy showed defensive flaws that in part were a result of Seattle’s high pressing style. Galaxy’s defensive line was probably their demise. A slow reaction gave Rui Diaz enough time to go in for the tap-in.
In the second half, it was all about control for Seattle. Hernandez had limited chances to create danger. Something completely different from the last two games for him. LA Galaxy failed to find the rhythm to the game and rarely found a connection to create transition plays. The game would’ve probably had a bigger scoreline, but LA’s goalkeeper had some key saves.
Seattle exploited their attacks through the wing. Rui Diaz stole the show with his constant appearances throughout the field and scoring 2 goals in the team’s 3-0 victory. Hernandez failed to make an impact all game, putting a stop to his goal-scoring streak. Although in my opinion, the fans were the real winners tonight.
