It looks like from here on out LA Galaxy will be playing at a higher level than last year.

Wendy Pintor

LA Galaxy will take on Austin FC Saturday morning at the QT Stadium in Austin, Texas  they will play Diego Fagundez formers team and even though he has not been starting we still see him coming off the field and making chaos for the rivals, Austin FC is currently in 8th place but surprisingly enough can still shock everyone with any little mistake LA makes. “ we’re still working on a lot of small things but these types of games help us see we’re and what we need to change, it’s still early on in the season so we’re not to worried that we can’t mange them when play offs come around. “ coach Greg Vanney

After beating San Jose Earthquakes 4-3 in an intense home game where every Angelino thought would be an easy win, almost became one of the most difficult games for the team. LA winning 1-0  in the 13th minute with a goal by Gabriel Pec, followed by a penalty kick goal in the 20th minute by Joseph Paintsil and then soon after the third one came in off a corner in the 30th minute a goal by captain Maya Yoshida from a deflection possibly but given to LA. Then when  things seemed to be going good surprisingly enough San Jose shook the stadium with a goal off a set play, hitting the wall  Rodrigues in the 32’ minute.

Things didn’t apear to worry LA as they grew in confidence with the half time break and the huge 3-1 advantage at home was enough for the team to maintain fearless momentum and in the 56th minute them came to seal the deal with Riqui Puigs goal leaving everyone to believe the game was over at 4-1  but then in the 58th minute earthquakes responded by a goal from B. Kikanović, 4-2, it left LA  a bit overwhelmed by those minor moments the team has already noticed where they need to step up.

At minute 70’ Zavaleta in a childish foul gets a red card for shoving the player Amahl Pellegrino down after coming in as a substitute, giving the other team a penalty kick moving the score 4-3 that complicated things a bit for LA because shortly after Earthquake attacked again frightening the home team with a close tie. -And after last week’s performance LA gives the impression where they didn’t like the feeling of losing, especially to the last place team or the loss against  local neighbors LAFC. The Galaxy are now first in MLS West Conference  with 21 goals, one behind Inter Miami CF, with seven of those LA goals coming in a pair of victories over San Jose.

On the other hand the team they face today is Austin a team who always seems to surprise us when we least expect it. This match marks the seventh MLS regular-season meeting between Austin FC and the Galaxy, with LA leading the all-time series 4-1-1. In two matches played between LA and Austin during the 2023 campaign, the Galaxy held an unbeaten record of 1-0-1 (5 GF, 2 GA). Notably, the Galaxy are unbeaten in their last four regular-season matches played against Austin FC (3-0-1; 10 GF, 4 GA) dating back to May 8, 2022. In five career regular-season appearances (1 start) against Austin, Dejan Joveljić has recorded three goals and three assists. Additionally, Riqui Puig has registered three goal contributions (2 goals, 1 assist) in two career starts against Austin FC.

Playing in their fourth home match of the 2024 campaign, the LA Galaxy earned a 4-3 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes before a sell-out crowd of 25,335 fans at Dignity Health Sports Park on Sunday night. Riqui Puig scored the game-winning goal, while Gabriel Pec and Joseph Paintsil both recorded a goal and an assist in the win. “Yeah, for the team, we are happy. It’s more for you, the DPs, we need to be in the top always to make good performance. But I think that the team doesn’t care about who scores. I think that it’s more important, the group, the three points, and I think that this performance, we make really good things but we need to improve a lot of things.” Mentioned Gaston Brugman

Galaxy is now accustom to winning, even on away games, todays game won’t be easy, despite the pressure of having Fagundez, Austin former favorite will be an extra factor on wanting to beat LA, but unfortunately for Austin LA has some unfinished buisness with the fans and hope to bring back another away win. “Yeah, for the team, we are happy. It’s more for you, the designated players, we need to be in the top always to make good performance. But I think that the team doesn’t care about who scores. I think that it’s more important, the group, the three points, and I think that this performance, we make really good things but we need to improve a lot of things” also added Brugman  for todays match.
