Bay FC Gets It Done Over Racing Louisville FC

After the win against Portland last week, Bay FC is seeking to replicate the success from last week against Louisville FC and keep the playoff hopes alive

As the inaugural season for Bay Football Club wraps up, the team wants to make history by ensuring they will be in the NWSL playoffs. Bay FC has struggled to get the three points, they did against Portland last week. Bay FC still owns their destiny and every game is important to secure their presence in the 2024 playoffs.

Racing Louisville FC stands in the 11th position of the NWSL and wanted revenge against Bay FC.

Bay FC (4-3-3) Starting Xl:

Rowland, Dydasco, Menges, Dahlkemper, Malonson, Pickett, Bailey, Boade, Kundananji, Oshoala, Hill

Louisville FC (4-2-3-1) Starting XI:

Bay FC came out to play this game with lots of aggressiveness and physicality and the chances did not take too long to be created.

The first shot attempt happened in the 13th minute of the game Kundananji's shot at goal was deflected by Louisville's keeper, Katie Lund, and followed up with a good defense that denied another chance.

Lund's actions followed in the 22nd minute of the game creating another save when Bay FC's Rachel Hill took a chance and the shot was denied over the goal post.

Another chance occurred in the 28th minute, but Louisville GK saved the day at least for the first half of action.

At the half, both teams were scoreless and the important factor to mention was that Bay FC showed different personalities which indicated that it could be on their hand to score a goal at any time.

Bay FC entered the second half of the game as I stated previously, with more aggressiveness and depth trying to close any gaps tactically speaking vs. Louisville.

The defining moment of the game came in the 77th minute of the game when A. Oshoala made the 1-0 for the home side. Tess Boade was subbed and the number 10 of Bay FC, Deyna Castellanos came onto the pitch.

Oshoala was shown a yellow card after tackling Louisville's Ary Borges and then substituted.

For the remainder of the game, Bay FC focused on defense and denied any scoring chances for Louisville as the visiting team put up pressure against Bay when the ref gave seven minutes of stoppage time and Louisville held most of the ball possession.

The game ended with a score of 1- 0, a result that was very needed by the home team to keep the chances for the last remaining month of the regular season.

Bay FC goes on the road against trying to make the third game in a row by getting the three points. The next match-up will be against North Carolina Courage on Sep 13.

The next home game at PayPal is on Sep 20 vs. Orlando Pride
